A natural extension of the Fourth World idea, Hassell performing with the Burkina Faso balafon ensemble. Unlike numerous World Music collaborations this avoids the anthropologist approach by seeking to blend different musical areas into a cohesive whole. The characteristic Eno and Lanois production layers JH's trumpet over balaphon polyrhythms, resulting in a sound like Dream Theory in Malaya relocated to Africa. JH also toured with Farafina around this time.

Title from a book by Robert Farris Thompson.
