Cover painting: 'The Swamp' by Melissa Miller

Pieces recorded live 1985-87, "assembled and processed" by Brian Eno and Jon Hassell. Closer to the pre-Power Spot albums overall, partly due to the looser nature of live performances. All lengthy pieces which accumulate their power by the persistence of slow repetition as the rhythms and instruments evolve around each other. Two of these tracks — Ravinia/Vancouver and Brussels — are outstanding.

Title comes from a poem by Ira Cohen.
