Vernal Equinox

The first JH album forms a bridge between the abstract electronics of Solid State and later rhythmic explorations. The Fourth World concept (even though it was unelaborated at this time) is present in the use of raga-style drones created, not by sitars or tamburas, but by synthesisers. Somewhat lacks the verdant atmosphere of the later records but Earthquake Island made up for that. The "Night Creatures of Altamira" appear again on Possible Musics.
